Tax · International tax

Tax does not stop at the border.

When your business, your employees or your owners move across borders, tax becomes complex. We advise Danish businesses with activities abroad and foreign businesses with activities in Denmark.

Questions.

What is a permanent establishment?

A fixed business presence in another country, such as an office or an employee who concludes contracts on the company’s behalf. It can create a tax liability in that country. The assessment depends on the activity and the relevant double tax treaty.

Branch or subsidiary?

A branch is part of the Danish company, while a subsidiary is a separate legal entity. The choice affects tax, liability and administration in both countries.

What is the researcher tax scheme?

A special scheme under which certain researchers and highly paid employees who move to Denmark can be taxed at a lower rate for a number of years. The conditions must be met from the start.

How do we avoid double taxation?

Denmark has double tax treaties with a wide range of countries. They determine which country may tax, and how double taxation is relieved.

Do you help foreign businesses in Denmark?

Yes. We handle registration, bookkeeping, payroll, tax and reporting to the parent company, in Danish and English.

What is dividend withholding tax?

Tax withheld when dividends are paid to a recipient in another country. The rate can often be reduced under a double tax treaty or EU rules.

What does international tax advice cost?

It depends on the number of countries and the complexity of the work. We agree the price with you before we begin.
